To start off, the bike and new trailer: The bike ran like a champ, as always...... The trailer was great. Could not feel the thing behind me. I can't believe all the stuff I can now bring. I will have to rig up some type of rear mudflap on the GS. The first 70+ miles of our trip was in the pouring rain and it trashed the front of the cooler and the trailer, but other then that, no complaints at all.
Now the campground: WOW!!!!!! OUTSTANDING campground. The grounds themselves were spotless and the bathroom and shower facilities were probably the best I've seen. They were cleaned at least four times each day. The showers were hot with loads of pressure. The bathroom facilities are within 50 yards of each site. The sites are big and very shaded. Each have a fire ring, a stand-alone BBQ grill and a lantern post. Our site appeared to have been racked of all leaves and sticks prior to our arrival. Very nice!!!!!!!P^
My new tent, the Chinook Twin Peaks Guide (6-person) was awesome. All of 10 minutes to get up. The attached screen room with detachable floor was nice. Loads of room. No more getting on my hands and knees and crawling into my tent. We were lucky and did not have use the rainfly the first two nights. We did throw it on the last night but "Mr. Doppler" was wrong, go figure. But it did keep us nice and cozy. Temperatures were in the low 60's.
It was a great trip, all in all.
Oh, I forgot to mention........it was my 20th wedding anniversary and I gave my wife a choice. Go on a cruise? or go Moto-Camping? Well, as you can tell, I guess I'll keep her for at least another 20 years.
