Well, I picked up some bungee straps and tested out the setup to see if it’s going to be roadworthy. It seems to be on there pretty solid with just those two bungee straps. This is the most stuff I’ve ever attempted to pack. If you guys have suggestions on how to make it more secure then I’m all ears.

I'd recomend getting one of those strechy cargo nets with the hooks, and surround the whole bundle with it.
If your load shifts on a rough road, at least you stand a better chanch of not loosing part of it, before you notice it, or before you can get safely stopped.
(Ask me how I know this could happen)

I agree wholeheartedly with G Wizz the nets are the way to go that way you don't have to worry about side shift

Well, for $10 I decided that I had better try the net - and it worked out pretty well. I have hooks up and down my little solo rack, but it seems to be working out. I thought it was pretty solid before, but I’m sure of it now. I shouldn’t have any worries.
Thanks!

The net is cheap insurance, I've seen loads shift on motorcycles before.
One unlucky rider was on the express way. I don't think he ever did get everything all picked up, what with the traffic playing pin ball with it.
Hope you enjoy your trip. Watch for leaves on the road, they're slippery ... especially when wet.

I just picked up one of these nets form HF for $4. Will be nice for containing a smaller bag/backpack on top of the gear.

Looks ok to me. ,but as you ride and camp more. You see how other riders tie thier camping gear down. Some you will like and some you won't care for. But most of us will tell you . We are always learning something new.. I pull a trailer quite a bit, but if I travel with out the trailer and tie stuff down on my bike (1800 goldwing) I usally arrange it 2 or 3 times before I am satified with it.

Nice looking scoot. I'll be picking up mine in about 4 months. Is that a Mustang vintage seat, and any other mod's besides the Vance and Hines pipes???? Thanks and ride safe

Street Bob's are classic! I don't think they get the attention they deserve. Your picture reminds me of my older camping days with my HD Springer. You may want to consider doing what I did for my 94' Low Rider. I put a tall sissy bar on it and bought a "T-bag" that slipped over the sissy bar. The T-bag has and expansion zipper for larger loads and also had a duffle bag that attached on top. I kept my sleeping back in it. Here is the link to the T-Bag site: http://www.t-bags.com/

Sorry, haven’t been here in a while….. just stage 1 on the Street Bob: air cleaner, remap. The headlamp is the Harley bullet headlamp and I put the Diamond Black pegs and grips on it. That’s about it really.

Rok STraps are great but pricey. Just noticed the other day, Wally World now has adjustable flat straps for mere $ instead of $$. Might be worth checking out. Camping or RV dept. I forget which.

If I didn't have saddlebags, I'd be looking into a throwover set just for camping. You can put the sleeping bags on over the saddlebags sideways, but it's a bit tricky to strap them on.
Here we are 2up:

Welcome and safe travels to ya P^
My 2 cents worth:
Those bungie cords with hooks caused my Son to go down real hard on I-40 though OK. Only broke his shoulder blade. Ma and Pa found out when the hospital called. Well, Ma freaked. Pa said: At least he's alive! Keep the straps and the net.
