Every year I take a trip to Coppers rock to see the fall colors. This year they are not quite changed all the way, BUT what a nice trip. I think I will go back in a week or so. Maybe pack a lunch, and have a picnic. They do have camping there , But it is mostly hunters now.

They're not quite there in Arkansas either. I took this one Saturday.

I had a good ride anyway.

That's a scenic turnout on the Talimena Scenic Drive in SE Ok and W Ar.

It runs between Talihena Ok and Mena Ar, hence the name.

Mr Guy, last spring I spent the night in Queen Wilhamina State Park in a tent. It was quite windy and I was afraid the wind was going to fly me off the mountain.
Beautiful area of Arkansas and OK.:)

There's a NFS campground on the Ok side called Winding Stair. You'll get the same expierence there too. In sits on top of the ridge like Queen Wilamena.

Nice pics and the leaves have turned here.
We were in Yosemite late last week and the trees were turning there too. This is my favorite time of year.

Nice Picture. Is that Yosemite? And by the way, I like Spring best, its the start of riding season not the end like now.

Yes. That's a picture of Half Dome as you descend into the valley.

The falls were running pretty good too.

Wow!!! That is awesome. I really want to ride out there. I have been to Yellowstone and down Rt15 to Brice and Zion. I was told you have to have a reservation to get in.

You will need a reservation for (most) campgrounds, but not to get in. There is a 'first come first served' protocol if you don't have reservations, too...It's worth the time, is a magically beautiful place.

That's correct. We hoteled it outside the park in Mariposa. Rates were good this time of year.
