Do you like Corvettes? The National Corvette Museum is in Bowling Green, KY. Oh wait, you said no museums. It's more of an indoor Vette show instead of a museum. The Vette plant is near that also if you want to see them put together. It's practically in my back yard.

The Land between the Lakes is a gorgeous area between TN and KY. It's just stunning.
I have had 2 really pleasant rides across the Upper South. Bayou's and dark swamps in AR, hill country in KY and TN. Bowling Green is a pretty town, I don't know how else to say it. Knoxville and Nashville, and the eastern hill country in KY and TN. That includes the dragon, everybody ought to ride it once. WV has spectacular roads. The Mississippi crossing park in Knoxville is nice.
I'm an expatriated farm boy, I just love riding through the small towns in IN, IL, OH. Those are the kind of people I understand. The Wabash river valley is pretty cool, a good ride. I'm a 2 lane guy, there are hundreds there....
EDIT: Oh, jeeze. Bar B Que! This is the part of the world that made it famous. Do a scientific study in every state! BBQ Breakfast!!!

P^ The Corvette museum is cool.
If you're over near Chattanooga, the Choo-choo area is pretty nice. Also, Ruby Falls is pretty spectacular, if you're not claustrophobic, and of course, you must 'See Rock City.' ;) if you're in the area.
