I recently did a trip to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, including the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. I was gone for about a week and this set up worked great for me: homemade rack, $10 Pelican case from eBay, waterproof dufflebag, and a dry bag with lots of bungie cords. I was able to carry everything I needed to camp comfortably (for me that is). The only thing I wished I did was crank up the rear shock spring preload a bit before leaving on this trip; the rear end bobbed a little bit in some corners where there were dips or bumps.
