i just got home from a camping trip around southern B.C. here are a few pics of some old gas pumps [ still in use] , a hotel built in 1896 , a big fish me and my pals caught [ hand lined as the reel boke of the rod] in lillooet , the hills were on fire all over the province so it was a smokey trip . the water photo is amazingly taken from a walmart parking lot in nelson B.C. the down town photo is also nelson

its a sturgeon , they are prehistoric fish from long ago . they have smooth skin and no teeth . they reach over 1000 pounds . very good eating but a protected species at the moment . ive been told a dead rotton chicken is the best bait for the big ones

yes the fishing rod was bought new that morning at the local hardwear store with 150 lb test , the reel snapped off after thr fish took a few runs , it took three of us , one on the rod , one with work gloves to pull and one winding the broken reel . i took photos

Wow. Great trip, great photos. Really nice to have photographic evidence when you are telling a 'fish story'.
I grew up in E Washington, we always heard that 'road kill skunk' (in a nylon stocking) was the very best bait for the big ones....

in the summertime its hard to find camping in popular areas , north of nelson is a place called toad rock motorcycle campgrounds . its $15 a night and there is allways room . when i was there it was comedy night that included a meal . i didnt attend but is seems an interesting place and i had a great time hideing from the rain under the tarp my neighbouring campers had set up . if your in the area its a good place and close to the hot springs
