I recently stayed at this campground on August 4, 2009. I was riding all the way up Hwy 61 in Minnesota to the Canadian/US border. There are several State Parks along this route that were all full on a Tuesday.
Needless to say, I was happy to find a spot here for only $15/night. I occupied a primitive spot with a fantastic view of Lake Superior and the moored boats in the Marina. Adequate showers and flushing toilets were close by and clean.
My only complaint was that the Geese had left their droppings all over the hill and I had a heck of a time finding a place to pitch my tent. I eventually gave up and just spread the groundcloth out anyway.
You pay for a site at the Marina Headquarters down by the water. I would stay here again if need be without complaint.
