End of month will be my one week off this year. Plan is to meet up with the wife and a couple of old friends in Yosimite on Saturday the 25th of this month for the weekend. Mike Roberts will be making the trip with me pulling his trailer behind. We'll stay till monday morning where I'll say goodby to the wife as she and the others will be headed home to go back to be part of the working ckass once again. Mike and I will be headed over Tioga Pass into Lee Vinning and the Mommoth Lakes area.

What Mike and I need is a recommendation of a nice lake and campground to spend Monday and Tuesday evening at. Have'nt fished in years, and we plan to try and do/try a little this trip. So what ever ideas anyone may have please keep that in mind. Have thought about twin Lakes or maybe Convict Lake.

I know there are many lakes in the area so I would like to hear of a few favorites from the collective here.

Wednesday, Mike and I will be headed to the 5th annual WMRS ADVriders rally between Bishop and Mammoth at the Browns Owens River Campground to spend the rest of the week with the ADV. group and friends .http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=458787

Black and Blue, would be a GREAT time to finally meet up if you happen to be around that week.

Ride report and many many pictures to follow.

Always did OK on the Walker River, but that was 35 years ago with my Dad and brothers. I do remember us getting yelled at allot from my Dad, so I guess we were doing something wrong but we always had fish to eat at night. :D

Good luck and have a great time.

Hey, Keith. I don't know from Adam where to camp, but I'm going to suggest the Mobile Station in Lee Vining for a chow stop! Really.

I had the fish tacos a couple weeks ago, they were excellent!

Have some fun on the ride!

Wednesday, thats or plan. The event starts then and we want to get our selves a spot along the fence like we had last year. Its an RV site and like last year we had friends with a big 5th wheel show up later. This year our friend George (Pointman0583) will be bringing up his nice 5th wheel horse trailer with living quarters with his bikes inside. He's also bringing the much needed shade we didn't have last year.

Hey, Keith
Convict Lake is nice to fish, but I'm not too sure about tent camping. Never did it there. Twin Lakes out of Bridgeport is very nice to camp, but I never fished there. I love fishing the Walker River. The June Lake area has good camping and some of the lakes are good to fish. Take your pick. Then if you camp at Brown's, the Owens River there has been good to us when fishing. Suggestions are hard to come by from us. We love the entire Eastern Sierras, well, except south of Lone Pine.:D

All packed and ready to go! Suppose to get out really early tomorrow morning. Hope to beat the heat and get to Yosemite between 10-11:00. Only 388 miles from my front door, one tank ought to do it. P^ Will need to gas up before heading into the park.

Some new gear to test and report on this trip. My -20° Big Agnes Park Series is staying behind. Have alway's just slept on top when the weather was warm. Full Throttle Camping now carries a Big Agnes bag made just for them. It's called a Chopped Hog. It is a Park Series oversize bag just like my other but is rated for 20°. What it is is a Hog Park bag with the top/mummy part of the bag removed (still has the pillow case) giving it a 30° rating. This is GREAT as my 25" X 78" Big Agnes insulated Aircore still fits. Will write something up when I return.
