My wife and I stayed at this state park campground over the Memorial Day weekend. The cg is located within the city limits of Columbia SC but the site is huge and no traffic can be heard or seen. However, Fort Jackson is nearby and you can hear the artillery shells exploding from time to time. It sounds more like distant thunder so no worries.
The bath houses are extremely clean as are all the facilities. Park staff monitor the site and provide the combination to the entry gate that closes at 10 pm. The sites have water and electrical hook ups. All sites are fully or partially shaded and the park has a small lake with rent-able paddle boats. The host campers are very friendly and had a s'mores roast on Saturday night. The cg is located within 1/2 mile of a shopping center for all your supplies. Sites were less than 20$ nightly. We stayed 4 nights for around 70$. Highly recommended.
