I was thinking that a propane storage (maybe a 20 lb one) would be a nice addition to my Aspen Classic. It would be nice for one of those catalytic heaters, since the little 1 lb tank doesn't last very long.
Has anyone done that?

Good points. I was just noodling it. I usually plug into electrics and use my ceramic heater. I used a -10 bag on a trip to Alaska and it kept me pretty warm. I do like to have a warm camper when I roll out of bed though.

the biggest problem I can see is how to handle the weight if you mount it to the front you will have to offset the weight by counter balanceing to the rear or visa versa but other then that as long as you don't go over the weight capacity of your unit should not be a problem

Over on the Motorcycle Trailer Towing forum on Delphi a couple of fellows showed me a fiberglass tank (10 lb) which would work well, weighs much less than a steel tank and could be stowed in the trailer when not in use. I think that is the better way to go.
