Just logged on for the first time. I've been a member of ST-Owners for a while and Mellow mentioned that he was firing up this site. I've not done a lot of camping but have all the equipment to do it. I might just have to give this a try. I look forward to the same quality that the ST-Owners site has managed to maintain and I hope the commaraderie is as great here as it has been over there. I hope we can plan some group camping excursions in the future.
Take care,
David

Hey Kevin, great comment.
Trailace and I were on a ride in Arkansas last year in Oct and we ended up in the southern Missouri/Northern Arkansas area and couldn't find an open campground to save our lives.
We ended up at a hotel where the rest of the group was staying and it was just a strange feeling standing in the hotel room with all our gear and not setting up a tent and building a fire... just sitting there watching TV... It just wasn't right, kinda like putting your shoes on the wrong foot. Next time, I think I'll camp on the lawn.

Tiny I also came from the ST site, I have always camped, and to me it is a big part of the riding experience.

I've done that....the biggest problem is that the grassy areas around motels are often used to walk dogs!
Oh yeah.... I've been there too... LOL

I would have considered it.. I had my axe... it's just, after I passed the local yahoos walking in their pasture w/flashlights and shotguns just 100 yards from where you wanted to set up... I didn't feel all that safe...
