I'd like to know who's riding pavement and off road so we have an idea of how many and of what type of riders to look for.

I'll come up on Thursday.

I'm an old guy on a Goldwing. I ride all day long, at a reduced rate. So if your rides are "spirited", I'll follow along at a distance.

I'll post some gps files as well as have some maps printed. I usually have spirited sections but always stop at decision points for everyone to group back up.

I am an old, slow, and steady guy too, but I do want to stop at Kent S's Memorial on Push Mountain.

I'll be coming in on US 62 then cutting south through "Hogeye". Oh how I love the names!

Anyway, I'm a slow rider as I don't like to max out the scooter too much. It a 250cc after all. I stick to pavement as much as I can as the 13 inch tires don't do real well on gravel. I can do short stretches, but that's it.

Hopefully, the wether will cooperate, however, if it looks like constant rain, I will most likely stay at home. Again, the scoot can do it, but over that distance, I'd rather not take too many chances. Bigger bike and larger tires? Maybe. On a scooter that far? "Iffy" at best.

I just signed up on the site. I came over from TWTEX where I saw this thread. I will be coming up on Friday on my FJR and riding street Saturday. I will be somewhat of a fair weather rider in that if its going to be a rainout I will stay home, but a little rain does not bother me.

I called the park today to ask a few questions and check about camping and reservations. They only had 2 sites available in the section we are trying to camp in. I reserved one of them today. They are $18 because they have water. The non water sites in that area are already reserved. She said they also had 2 sites in another area available that were $30. But that is all she had for that weekend, everything else was booked.

I don't know if anyone else had made reservations but I would suggest you do it today or tomorrow unless we have a block of sites reserved already, otherwise this is not going to work out to well as they are pretty booked.

Each site can have 2 tents so I will have room for one more tent on my site number 25.

Lets hope for good weather.

Thanks for the heads up. When Rick originally called they said the place would not be anywhere near capacity that weekend.

I will be leaving on Wed. the 22nd to visit a uncle that lives in Farmington.I will arrive at Devil's Den that Friday morning. I am not sure what time the friday group rides begin but I hope to be apart of it. I voted as a pave rider but the Vee and I might ride a little dirt, we would not want to hold up the true dirt riders.

Joe,

There should be another bike with me for street ride Friday and Saturday. Rider's name is Orlin Cigelske and he'll be riding a V-Rod. :bike1:

A good friend (Dave Doolin) has an opinion I happen to agree with.

"There's no bad weather, just bad clothes."

Hope to meet you there.

A campsite just opened up at Devils Den so we in. We're coming up from Houston, we'll be in a truck camper at campsite 62. My SO and I plan on spending a week at the park, I'll ride the DS routes then head East to Birmingham for the Superbike races at Barber Motorsport Park.

Regards Klaus & Dianne

We'll be bringing a warmed over KLR and a GS1200Adv. I just finished talking to my bud who was at the HSTA DS rally nearby. The rain ran a lot of folks off, not going to happen here, the KLR does a lot of beach riding, rain not a problem.

I wanna go to Hurley, MO for lunch, but that'll be on the way down from Aurora, IL on Friday.

I could be tempted to go off-road on the ST if it's dry out. Might be fun to do a not-to-ruff trail with all the gear back in camp. Last two times, I had all the gear piled on. Lots of work.

From what Rick told me of the trails... might not be a good idea...
