My so and I spent the weekend in Kerrville-Schreiner park. The weather was perfect, in the high 80s and the riding was great in the Tx hill county as usual. We arrived and got our tent set up Friday afternoon and had a nice quiet night on the far end of the park, as recommended by the Motocampers experts.

Getting the bikes ready for the ride.

On the way home, we stopped at the Hilltop Cafe in Doss on hwy 87 just north of Fredericksburg. It's got quite a history and the food was really great. I tried my first taste of turtle soup. That's my so and her mighty fine Kaw Drifter.

Have camped there several times, both motocamping and with our camper and like the quietness on the back section. Last time we were there (in the camper), had to stay in the front section between the Guadalupe River and the hwy to Bandera - continuous road noise.
Hilltop is a great place to eat. The owner used to be a piano player for Asleep At The Wheel and on the weekend nights the diners often get to hear some good music to go with the good grub.

No they had a burn ban. They wouldn't even allow a charcoal fire for cooking. I had my propane stove for coffee tho, and I toasted some rolls on it for breakfast.

Just a great area to ride and camp but the burn ban is getting old. :D

Yeah... I'm about ready to boycott Texas camping 'til it's allowed... yeah yeah, I know, there's a reason.. but I just don't like it.

Hey, Jetfixer

Just as long as you had a good time.P^ Nice pics. Campfires would be nice though. Adds to the enjoyment of camping.

You all can come on over to Arizona and build a fire:)

We did have lots of fun and some fantastc riding. It was the TAR weekend and we ran across countless dual sports. We sat at the picnic table at night and sipped some crown to wind down. A fire would have been nice, but the stars and moon were perfect for just the two of us.
