Just an FYI if you are camping near Benton, TN - A wounded bear is not a good thing.

I can't imagine loosing a child. Condolenses to the family. Black bears are very heavily populated in my area, and I don't remember ever hearing of any attacks. I have seen 4 in my yard.

There was also a recent mountain lion attack on a child in Colorado. The lion was killed.

Bears, cougars and wacked out speed freaks are the only things which concern me while camping/hiking.

Be carefull out there.
