Has anyone ever thought of putting together a forum gathering at some centrally located campground and getting all those who could and would, to meet for a wild weekend?

Great Idea ... How about everyone comin on up and setting up camp here at my place? Lots of room to pitch a tent in the west horse pasture ... Great place to watch the sun go down. Then we can have a bonfire, and count fireflys ... I'll even cook breakfast for ya in the mornin. :D :D
(actually, I really do think you have a good idea)

There are a bunch of us all over the place... so 'central' isn't too easy... but, we just have to make events wherever and see who shows up... We are having the Hillbilly Roundup coming up in Arkansas.. but, no reason someone can't post up another event.. we had one in OK the end of last year that was good as well.

If anyone has any ideas just post them, you never know what will get started.

I'm planning to be at the Hillbilly Roundup on the way back to CA from Moonshine and a quick trip to my house in OH. Hope to see some of y'all there. Womantriker hasn't made up her mind as to whether she's flying home after Moonshine or coming along. I may do CheapSToc on the way back also.

Small time gathering would be a good idea. But this year appears to be out for me. Plans are already in motion. My wife doesn't get any summer holidays because of her job So she is getting week in May and we will be flying home to Niagara Falls to see my family. My Dad is getting up in years. I have a summer ride in the works to travel Northern Ontario and if time permits The Manitoulin Islands. Of course, I'm on no time schedule, no need to be at a place at a certain time, like pot-luck. Stop when I want and stay as long as I want.

Unfortunately my wife informed be last year that she has lost the interest in riding. So, I now ride alone. But that's not bad, I as I enjoy time alone.

This fall my wife gets two weeks holidays and she is planning a trip to the west coast to see her friends. Nice this is we do things together, yet appreciate the fact that we can do things seperately and that is fine with each other. In fact we encourage it.

My observation is it's best to just make a decision, choose a date & place, and see who can show up. Most times it's put up for "discussion", nothing gets decided.

Many of us attend events organized on other forums or with other clubs. Ya just never know! P^

Wild weekend? The Princess won't let me go to one of those... wait... I can't even remember what that is anymore. Is that where we all sit up 'til the sun goes down... so that our grown kids won't talk about us going to bed BEFORE the chickens?

Hi G wizz,

I agree with Trekker, it's your pasture, you pick the date and everyone else can set their calender to it. Leaving decisions to a debate is no way to get stuff done. :D

Ok .. As soon as the wife gets back from Texas, we'll talk it over, and set a date ... probably shoot for some time in late July or August.
May change location to a cool campground further north, called "Cyclemoore Campground" ,we'll see.

:hatw1: I'm all for ridin' and campin' !!

Anybody out west looking for a get-together weekend? I'm pretty much all the way west, about an hour from the coast, not more than 4 hours from Yosemite, 6 from Sequoia NP or Kings Canyon. Lots of great roads and camping along the way. Riding the passes (Tioga, Monitor, Sonora, Carson, Ebbetts) is always a good time. Great rides, scenery camping etc.
My suggestion is a late summer/early fall get together for all those far and near.

What do you say?

Eastern Ok is about as central as it gets and there still be some good riding to be had. I am part of a group that has members in all four corners and we meet in Eureka Springs, AR. GREAT riding there. And we are going to meet in South Western Colorado as well.

Talimena area would be nice.
