I picked up a pair of these boots a couple of days ago, so here is a first impression. I have worn them on one ride and walked around a little in them and they are more comfortable than I though they would be. I wanted a pair of shorter boots that would be comfortable on my calves. These are easy to get on and off, as they close with only the ankle buckle and velcro at the top. I wanted something that I didn't have to lace up but was waterproof. I rode in a light rain and hit them with the water hose and my feet stayed dry. I have some nerve damage in my left leg and have a hard time removing slip on boots from this foot, but these work great. They seem to be breaking in fairly fast, but I will update as they get some use on them. I ordered them from Dennis Kirk for $116.99. I could have probably found them cheaper, but I like DK's great return policy when I'm buying anything I might have to exchange or return.

How'd you know I need a new pair of boots this year?

Thanks for the review, I'll put them on the 'consider strongly' list:)

Here's a review I did of my AlpinstarsRidge Waterproof Boots (http://weroam.wordpress.com/2008/12/22/review-alpinestars-ridge-waterproof-boots/)

Probably somewhere in the price range of these JR boots, kind of shorter like these JR boots, and to date have never had a drop come through on a number of wet rides.

Also in that style and price range are the Tourmaster Solution boots. They are comfortable out of the box and have held up well for three years. However, they were only waterproof for two. Still, not bad for a pair of $100 dollar or so riding boots.

Cool, I currently wear Tourmaster Solutions, but have ben looking at the Joe Rockets. My TM's have stayed waterproof but the sole is wearing out some after a couple years. The JR's look easier to put on.

Newenough has them for $109 free shipping.
