Just curious which, if any, kits you guys have on your bikes. I found a cheap one at Wal-mart for about $10 w/plastic case. Should handle most minor cuts and I also carry a snake bite kit as well.
So, what do you carry?

Gotta love Wally-World ....
I bought the $10.00 kit also. Good size packaging for the ST, and enough kit inside to handle most anything I'd want to deal with on the side of the road. Common sense, first aid kit, and cell phone will help in most situations. I carry all three on every ride ........
Never considered a snake-bite kit ... I've also added a magnesium stick (Wally-World, $7.00), and a "Space Blanket" to my essentials.
We made our own and stashed it in a shaving kit bag. We kind of refine it as we go along but it has worked so far.

I bought my first aid kit so long ago I forgot who made it. It stays on the bike at all times. Even though my tank bag has a pocket designed specifically for the cell phone I carry the cell phone in my jacket pocket. Bikes slide much better than the human bodiy and God forbid I may not be able to get up and walk to the bike. I want the phone on my person.

I keep a Hiker kit from Campmor with me. Cost about $25

Aside from the typical gauze, scissors, rubber gloves, & so on,
you'll want to add your favorite pain killer to your kit (I have some codine
left over from when I broke my radius/ulna last summer) .
My kit looks something like this:

I think its important to get a durable bag for your kit because
you inevitably use up and replace some things as well as add or
suppliment your kit with other things, so you want a bit of room
to be flexible.
There sure are a lot of them available these days:

Good links... and good idea, I'll put together a links section for first aid kits.
:bike1:
I guess I'm a minimalist...
I was a hospital corpsman in the usn a long time ago and I carry; gause, knife, teflon bandages, paper tape and betadine solution.
The aspirin will be in my ditti bag and now that you've mentioned it; I might ask my dentist or doctor for a 'travel' prescription of a better pain killer. I can't take codine (unless I want to puke for a couple of hours) so it will have to be something *better*.

I saw a good trauma kit at Birgade Quarter Master. $30 or so. Almost picked one up to pack. Not really a first aid kit. But could save a life in a bad situation.

This is what I carry on my bike. It looks to contain what one might need if a motorcyclist gets in trouble. I added a few extra pairs of gloves for emergencies.

Lots of gauze, pads, and tape.
Stop the bleeding and immobilize limbs and digits.
A couple regular aspirin for heart attack.
Just the lifesaving stuff...and working knowledge of basic EMR and CPR.

I have found that two kinds of kits are needed. They may be combined in one pouch but not necessary.
The CUT kit: band aids, antiseptic, sliver remover, etc.
Trauma kit: large pads, tape, kling, sterile saline solution, etc. For the times when people are really broken.
Meds I usually carry in my toilet kit. I am not qualified to give them to other people especially in an emergency situation.
BTW: I have one of the Wall-Mart $10 kits. I took out what I don't like and added what I needed. Works great.
