They are a very good GPS. Be aware that this is a discontinued model. Not that it means it is a bad model. This is why they are on sale everywhere and not even available in some places.

I bought one in December a bout 5 days before they announced the discontinuation of it on the Garmin website. Very happy with it as is. I wouldn't want a 650 which is the new model they are offering now. Both it and the 550 have too many features I don't care to have to pay for.
