Sorry for being so late in adding this but I added a sub-forum specifically for those that camp w/trailers or camping trailers.
Good idea Mellow. I like to drag ol' Bushy around when camping, for those little extras:
8 X 10 tent, folding chair, 12v/batt TV, comfy cot, iced drinks and so on.....
Ahhhh to rough it in STyle ;)
Nice digs ya got here Mellow :p

Joe,
Thanks for the new forum. My wife and I travel two up and tow a Leesure-Lite pop-up camper. Last year riding an R 1150 Rt we covered around 7,000 miles out west.
However I recently bought a new ST '05 Red and have just completed the addition of a Classic Industries trailer hitch. I learned about this hitch from the guys on the ST-Owners forum and again they steered me correctly.
I have yet to tow with the new bike, but heading out the first of June for another out west trip and will tow the trailer.
I saw the request for pics, and as soon as I get the trailer out of storage I will send some. However if you look at my avatar on the ST-Owners forum you will see the trailer with the Beemer.
Again thanks for the forum and I look forward to some great input I know we will have over time.

This is our Bunkhouse in Apache Junction AZ KOA on our last trip. The Bunkhouse made an Alaskan trip last year behind the 01 Wing that got traded for the 06 in this picture. and finally a picture of the SO at GWRRA headquarters in Phoenix.

How about a review of that trailer and hitch, and a site link? I know it can be found on "other" forums, but let's start to consolidate information on this site! -Kevin
Good Idea, I just added a trailer review section here and I'll add one for the Uni-Go:

Here are a few pics of the Leesure lite camper from a trip last year pulling it with my Beemer.
The first one is at a campground in Ouray Co, the next one not sure, and the last one (which is a fully loaded pic) in Amarillo TX.

I just finished putting the lights on my trailer. I still have some work to do on it but I hope ti take it out soon on a weekend camping venture. I took it out yesterday on a 400 mile trek and it did great. It is a home built with leaf springs and 8 inch four bolt tires and rims and an old car top carrier on top of a plywood deck. Nothing fancy but it pulls great. If I can figure out how to post a picture of it here I will.
Soon to be retired.

Several years ago I built a cargo trailer to tow our camping gear when my wife and I tour on my ST1100.
I`m the low-$$,DIY sort, and I enjoy welding. I`ve built many trailers,
up to 18' tandems, but checking new parts prices against Harbor Freights
$130 (Inside Track) delivered price, I decided to go for the HF small
utility trailer. A rooftop car carrier I had bought a the flea market
for $35 years ago just fit lengthwise, and I made some simple brackets
to secure it below usual deck level. I have hitch and trailer for less
than $175. Any questions, just ask.
Here`s a great site where I got much info on building my trailer-

Here`s some links to MC trailer building-

And here`s a pic of the trailer before I lengthened the tongue and added a cooler carrier.-

I picked up a 1991 B&F Bunkhouse off Ebay. was close to home and $800 did not get my finance manager tooo excited. Planning a trip for a few nights in northwest Michigan in September if we do not get a quick weekend sooner
I picked up a used Markland hitch platform for my GL1500, again $40 price could not be passed up. GWRRA National forums are about as awesome as the ST Owners forums
My wife (finance manager) is still up on a GL1500 but running with a instatrike now
dropping hers last year really got to her focus and confidence
now she rides to work everyday, I cannot wait for the day to get her a real trike
she kept up chasing the other 6 bikes in our group thru Hockings county Ohio for 4 days

Does anyone tow a camper trailer like the Kwik Kamp or Bunkhouse with an ST1300? If so, what are your observations? Does the trailer seem OK to tow, as with a Gold Wing, or does it seem to be too heavy? How is accelleration and braking and how does it affect the handling? I nearly went that route last year but changed my mind because I felt that the ST wasn't a real good platform for towing a camper trailer that weighs 325 lb. empty, plus another 100 or more pounds of gear. Comments anyone. If it turns out that the ST is just fine for pulling a trailer, I'm going to be very disappointed because I really miss my ST. Thanks in advance.
