I've been using an LED headlamp that attaches to the brim of a ball cap for the last two years. It worked great although it was not real bright. The other problem was it's use of coin type batteries. These are not something you'll find in a campground store. So last week I bought a Petzl Tikka Plus headlamp that just uses an elastic strap that goes on your head. This thing is light, bright, and takes three AAA batteries for a 150 hour burn time! The light intensity can be adjusted through three brightness settings and it also has a flasher mode. It's much better than my cap light.

In October 2007 Narcop and I set up camp in the middle of the night. Let me tell you. A headlamp is the only way to go. I'm sure most of you use one but if not, you owe it to yourselves. Remember not to blind people at the campground if you get in a conversation!

I have been using an el cheapo LED headlamp for the past 5 years I bought off of Ebay. Fanatastic light, runs on 3 AAA batteries and runs for a very long time, In fact I have only replaced the batteries twice in the past 5 years.
