Taj Mahal is back

Well, after waffling back and forth about reaquiring my Bunkhouse, it is back in my possession. I will be camping in the lap of luxury again and fully intend to have it at Guadalupe and Ft Davis next month.

Mack, after using my Lil Bunkhouse last summer I was at a loss as to why you got rid of yours in the first place. I am glad you have it back and maybe one day we can meet on the road and camp together (2 STMMHs -ST Mini-Motor Homes). Pulling the trailer with the hack my fuel consumption is always going to be high but heck, I can take everything I (might)need, including the kitchen sink! I have had some shoulder problems but I am ready to get back on the road at the drop of a warm sunny day! Let me know if you might be interested in a spring run down to TWO in N. Georgia.

What do you use to put under the front part of the tent? Is it a piece of carpet or something lighter?

Under it I have a tarp. Inside I have a piece of carpet and where I walk in and out I put a cheap throw rug down to wipe my feet on. That sll lays on top under the top cover.

Thanks, I'm trying to get all that set up for ours. Right now we are negotiating on what size ice chest to carry. I say just big enough for a 6 pack of cokes and a 12 pack of beer but Cindy seems to think we need to carry food also.:rolleyes:

Chief, I vote on her side, that way if you discover something you really want to do you have a snack with you and you don't have to go back into town for a bite to eat. Since I am a Type II diabetic I eat several times a day but not much at a time, helps cut down on the meds!

I use a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet both above and below the floor in my Bunkhouse. As Mac said they will pack easily on top of everything and under the cover. Last summer we added Don's ground cover to that mix and a time or two had some items slip to the side under the cover. We did not lose anything and stopped the slide by putting his ground cover between the carpet sections. Since I will have more room traveling without Don I think I will add another piece to use as Mac does, to wipe your feet.

Anyway, I agree with you Chief, I am getting cabin fever and would really like to see some good, warm weather!

Mac, that is really tempting, especially since I have already been thinking about it! However, I don't know if I mentioned or not but I injured my right shoulder last summer (3 days after I got home!) and I did not do anything about it until just recently. I will be wrapping up rehab that week and I already asked my horse Doc and he said he would rather I waited a few weeks before stressing the wing, damn! I will say this, a meeting between us is coming! It may be High Noon in Dodge City or after dark in Desolate, Tn but it is coming! You have been warned.
