Turbocity Tom's Luggage rack, finished with an antenna tab for my cb radio, bolts are welded to the bottom for a nice neat appearance and easily removed if you want to, powder coated in silver or black. $100.00 plus shipping to my door. The rack is 18 inches wide by 12 inches deep.

Good jpb! I have been welding and fabricating for 30 years and that is well done.

Yes, that is one GREAT looking rack! Have been following this since your first pictures. Have alway's liked the looks of a well made rack made from tubing. Turbocity Tom should sell many of these nice well made racks for the 1300.

Here are some pictures of the ST with the Turbocity rack and the Cabellas duffle packed with tent, sleeping bag, and thermarest matress. The first rack wouldn't work with the smuggler as the antenna tab was in the way, built another one, I had the final rack powder coated in flat black instead of silver. If you are planning on getting a rack for the ST and plan on a smuggler at a later date make sure to tell him that a smuggler will be attached as it makes a difference as to where the rack is positioned on the base plate. I have a ST 1300 and needed a luggage rack for the postage stamp area that Honda provides. Some time ago, I purchased a Pirat's Lair backrest for when my better half comes along and used the 'slipover the backrest' type of bags. I didn't want to lose that feature, so Turbo City Tom fabricated an option for his new luggage rack so I could slip the backrest bar into a channel in his backrest. This allows me the use of the backrest when she's along and using my Corbin Smuggler when she's not. I bought a Cortech Sport bag from Helmet City that is meant to fasten on it's underside. It is more aerodynamic and stylish than the squareish bags meant to slip over a backrest.

The fit and finish of the Turbo powder-coated flat black rack are first rate. When I bought it, I thought I'd only use it for camping, but now, it's on there for good.

I see you are on the ST-Owners site also there is a link there to Toms site in the vendor area. Otherwise I can look it up for you. Danny

Be careful that you don't over-load the rack... The rack can certainly take the weight... However, the place where it is mounted is PLASTIC... High quality plastic, but still plastic... :D

I found the link today before I read your reply. Thank you though. Does this rack REPLACE the plastic one? Because that one has a 10 pound load limit.

It does not replace the stock rack, all that comes off of the stock rack is the black plastic cover, the base plate on toms rack replaces that. I have a friend that has this rack also and we rode together out to westoc this year. His girlfriend went with him and he had 2 of the Cabella's duffles bungied to the rack with no issues. I never take the rack off, I find it very handy. My trip to westoc had the cabella's bag on my rack with all my clothes for the trip, my shaving kit, and my shoes, I thought to weigh the bag just to see and it was only 7 pounds. Danny

To make sure I am clear on this - I spend $100 and still have the 10 pound limit? Is the net result that I gain a place to hook straps enabling me to add a duffel or some other type of luggage?

I wouldn't worry a whole lot about the 10 pound limit. Is the load secure? How's does it handle? I prefer straps to bungies. I would try to keep the weight down low in the saddlebags and put the fluff on the rack. How does the top case mount on a 1300? If it mounts on the rack I would think you were over the 10 pounds, empty. I have an 1100 and with a sticker limit of 20 pounds per saddlebag. I've been overloaded every trip by probably 20 pounds per side.

I have this rack on my ST13, when camping I carry a soft sided cooler with whatever ice, food and drinks are left over from the day before. I don't know the exact weight, but I know it is over 10 pounds ( beer, bottled water, eggs, bacon and ocaisionally a steak). No issues at all.
