half dome or quarterdome tents?
They look plenty light. 2 vestibules. Lots of ventilation, etc.
Looks plenty roomy for 1 up and gear.
thanks!

I've never used one, but I did get to look one over they had on display. I know this doesn't tell you much but the zippers seemed to work well and the poles looked very sturdy. I also liked the color of the netting. Wish I could tell you more.

Yes, my 1st good tent was an REI Half dome.
Very good tent. The only reason I went with a different one as to get a smaller pack size.

Hubby and I have an REI Half Dome 4 HC that we use when camping together.
It fits both of us pretty well, along with our respective mattresses. Hubby's 6'4" so a good size tent was important! :D
Definitely recommended.

I have a Kelty Teton 4 that I got from REI That has all the room I need for me and my gear. Perfect size for cot, air mattress gear and 6'1' of me. My reasoning for that particular tent was the height, 4'10" inside height. Just right to get dressed in and packs down with no problems....great tent!

How about the Marmot tents?

I have a Half Dome Plus that I got used on eBay from a guy that was upgrading to a newer model. I have looked at other tents but so far haven't found one that was enough better to make me go for it.

I live within 15 miles of 3 REIs. It seems all of their gear that they'll put their name on is top quality stuff. I feel the same way about LL Bean. I've been using their Lightstuff III tent for ten years now.

For the past 6 yrs I own and use for camping, backpacking, and motocamping a Half Dome from REI. Use it's for 1-2 person, a four season tent. Get the foot print and your set. :tent1:

Another satisfied Half-dome user here. It's going on six years old and dry as a bone - from the rain, at least. When the fly is buttoned down tight I get considerable condensation inside but design changes have probably dealt with that. It's done a great job of keeping the outside water away, even when I've woken up to find standing water all around me.
