Finally, today the arrival of our new Ural Patrols. Ski of TriQuest Motorcycles out of Santa Clara, CA. arrived today with our two 2008 Ural Patrols (White and Green). The Urals have plenty of room for our camping gear and not to mention our dogs. Soon we will go to some of those out of the way places to camp:) I'm having problems posting pics:mad: I will try later.

Congrats on the new bikes you two! I can't wait to see the pictures. I have always told my friends that when anyone gets a new bike someone should throw them a shower like women do for weddings, babies, etc. Imagine the gifts, farkles, riding gear, cleaning products, oil and filters, etc. You could register at Happy-Trail, Touratech, Aerostich, etc. :D
Can ya tell I've had to go shopping more than I've wanted to. :p

Actually, I'm already registered on the new M/C Mama list at WhiteHorse Gear.
Feel free to shop for me Ironhead;)
I think the things I will need the most with these rigs will be;
Rags,
Wrenches,
BandAids (for the knuckles), and possibly,
an upgrade on my AAA for motorcycle towing.
After riding Hubby in the side car today, I'm thinking of naming it John Deere.

Thanks, Guys:) So far they are fun to ride. Only thing is I (the male half) has more fun riding in the side car than on the the bike itself:p The wife took to riding hers like a pro. Easy to ride as long as you know the quirks of the rig. The car likes to come off the ground if you make fast right turns:p Three of our neighbors have already sat in the car for a ride. We are getting the funniest looks from other people. We took it thru town yesterday in the evening, I riding in the side car. One gal almost crash taking a hard look at us:D
Well, anyway, we hope to do lots of trips and camping with them:tent1:

Some more pics.
Too early in the break-in to try camping or hauling a load...but,
at least we got a shot of the "OFFICIAL MOTOCAMPER" tee-shirt.

Nice looking rides, although Nikki wants to see a pic with Audrey and Kirby in the side cars.

Let her know they will be posted as soon as we get an eyebolt in the car to secure the big guy.
The foodaholic will probably go in a box.
But we'll get them both with their "Doggles" on for her.

A strong eyebolt. If Kirby sees a donut shop, he'll pull that rig sideways. ;)

Ain't that the truth. And a very short tether.
And for those of you who are wondering, "what the *&$# is a Kirby?"...
He is a behemoth of a dog that the folks at the Oklahoma campout were nearly knocked over by while trying to get some food and lovin'.

I have my eye on a used (450 miles) Patrol. The guy bought it on a quirk and found out he really didn't want a rig like that. Too much money, not enough patience.
I'm trying to scrape up some more pennies to make the deal.
They look like so much fun both riding and the working on.

Oh, yeah...we have had TOO MUCH FUN the last few days!
We are already tweaking them to make it comfortable for the dawgs.
Hubby is out there now putting in eye bolts to hold one of the guys in and making a ramp for him.
I just can't explain how fun they are...sorta like the motorcycles, yet not quite.
We can't get many miles on because somebody always wants to stop and talk about them...we were way out in the dirt yesterday and somehow came across a guy hiking with his dog. We thought we finally got away from it all, but he wanted to talk about the rigs. If you want to be incognito, they aren't for you!
They are so simple and old school that I have a basic understanding of the mechanics.
Good luck on working out a deal. Just remember, they are what they are. Not at all fast or high performance like the motorcycles...a whole different animal.

That's the thrill for me with the Ural. I wanted a bike I could break down and/or repair with parts I bought at Walgreens.
I know they are not rockets either. I live in the World's Largest Cat Box so I am interested in something I can take into the desert and have fun with.
Keep the black bits down.

Both of those are Urals are absoluety Beautiful! I can't imagine having all the extra room. I bring along way too much now as it is. A side car full of room would give me the ultimate camping setup.
You can pretty much guess that everyone here is waiting for more pictures and ride reports from your future Motocamping trips.
As for color, both are absolutely beautiful. I would have a really tuff time choosing between the two.

Thanks for the pics, Nikki loved them.
Every time I see your pics I start to wonder if you have enough room for a tent in your yard. I need to get out to your area to ride next summer.

Beautiful bikes! :wow1:
You and your furry pals will really enjoy them.
I'm thinking an Ural would be perfect for camping and just poking around the country. Easy enuf to go fast from one coast to another on the superslabs, but mostly very boring..Like, there has GOT to be something to see in Nebraska between Mile marker 1 and Mile marker 454 besides cows and sunflowers!
If you haven't' read about Mr Cobb's Ural adventure, yet, it's way cool. About 15000 miles in three months. Ok, ADVriders are not politically correct and sometime just crude, but there are also some links at the end of that ride report that show Mr Cobb riding thru a swamp and other places only ATV's and horses should go....

The spare wheel fits only the rear bike wheel and the side car. You have to take the spare tire off the rim to use on the front or just carry a tire for the front.
