Guy, do you try these recipes at home before hitting the road?
I bought a dry package chili recipe last week, made it over last Thursday at home. Much too large for a single night's camp but could be divided up. Single package requires 7 cups of boiling water then simmer for a 1/2 hour. Could divide it into 7 equal parts and carry in zip loks, I suppose. I added spices and a couple chicken breasts to make near a gallon of chicken chili. Much better than I expected, fed 4 of us a nice dinner.
I used to say I didn't camp, only slept in a tent. Now that I'm carrying cooking gear I guess I'm a camper. :D

But, are you a happy camper? LOL

Hi George,
Sometimes I try them at home, sometimes not, it adds to the adventure.
Instead of ziplocks for the dry noodle or rice stuff, I use a wide mouth plastic bottle and just spoon out as much as I need and keep the rest for the next day.
