Oh how I hate thieves! After an eight hour drive back from
Arkansas last night I got home to find the back window
of my pickup broken out. I guess they were trying to steal my stereo,
because there was blood on my front seat from where they cut their
arm getting in. However, they didn't take anything, probably because
the stereo is a 1997 cassette player.

Today I got an email from my neighborhood association saying that over
the weekend two boys were breaking into cars, and the police
actually caught them.

Frio- I hate em' too. They broke into my garage 3 or 4 weeks ago and made off with my mountain bike and about 2K in tools. The Poodle security system almost got them after they were foolish enough to come back 5 minutes after I discovered the break in. Gotta love a 50 pound snarling poodle with her nails painted and ribbons in her ears trying to bite some thugs ass off!

That sux, but at least they were able to follow the blood trail and catch them.

1997 Cassette Player? That's got to be worth....... $ .40 :D

Maybe they should have stold the window instead...

This used to be my security system:

But he passed a couple years ago, now I have these two and they make up in aggression what they lack in size:

My garage security system consists of a 125 pound (still growing) rottweiler. He is a very light sleeper. And he has access to the entire house and garage at all times.

Damn overgrown lap dog!

I've always considered my stereo to be a theft deterrent. I guess it worked.
But the small, sliding, pane of glass they broke costs $108 at the dealer. Our receptionist
called a friend of hers that has an auto-glass company, and he came out yesterday
and replaced the entire rear window for only $195. I'm going to keep the old cassette
player.
