Just got home and got my gear put away so it's time for a post. Got a late start from home after the kids got out of school on friday and made it to the refuge a little later than expected. So when I arrived I pulled out the ol' cell phone to call Black and Blue to find out where they were only to discover no signal. After walking around looking for a motorhome from California to no avail, they found us along with GulfxRay, all's well that ends well. But we were expecting ImRubicon and his daughter and hadn't seen them yet, I was hoping they hadn't ran into any trouble. Already being dark we called an early night and would do a little riding on saturday. In the morning after breakfast, GulfxRay (Shawn), Jeff, Nikki, and myself went for a ride around the refuge. One of the large animals we saw:

Were have I seen this before?

Nikki and Shawn at the top of Mount Scott:

After riding we went back to Camp Doris to find that ImRubicon had arrived. They stayed at a motel in Lawton Ok only to find in the morning they were only 23 miles from camp. We sat around camp and BSed most of the rest of the day. On Sunday everyone packed up and headed out most had long ride ahead of them.
All in all, a nice campout had a nice time and met even nicer people. I hope to be a part of many more get togethers to come.
Thanks, Guy

Man I wish I was there. Instead I was at my daughter's softball practice warming up the pitchers and took a 50 mile an hour softball to the big toe which is now black and probably without a nail soon.
My daughter pitches so I've taken some shots but never on the toe. It smarts!
Great pics of a great campout everyone. hope to meet all of you soon.

My Daughter and I arrived about 6:30 last night at home . We would have kept going but I really hate riding at night in the country unless I know where I am going . Too many critters out there. Highway seems better maybe because the critter count has been lowered by cars already.
I unpacked most the gear as my Tent was a little damp on the underside in the morning.
I am very proud of my Daughter as she hung in there on her first motorcycle trip longer then a hour and a half . It took a bit longer to get there but it was worth it LOL
As it was a bit nippy :cold1: at night we had shared three sleeping bags for body heat one on the bottom and two on topoverlayed but hers fell off and she kept stealing mine
I did laugh because she asked where the cabins were when we pulled in  :tent1:
She said she is tired and her motorcycle trips are on hold for a little while and maybe no more till she gets a bigger bike .
Hmmm..... sounds like blackmail to me as she had been asking me to help her get a bigger one and Christmas is coming up.
I also gave the Uni-Go its maiden trip for me . I loved the extra gear as I brought way more than I would need by myself and daughter and still had a few things I didnt use at all . it rides pretty rock solid until around 70 and up .
Dirty truck air will make you rear end feel all wooshy.
I have now felt the ST1300 weave and it was not a good feeling
:wow1: it can wake you up .
Overall she didnt slow me down it was the trailer as it was pretty good the second half crusing at 70 or 75 but if I had to pass a long line of cars slowing down I wouldnt want to take a burst at 85 or 90 so it limited my riding this trip .
I have rad about some adjustments I can make so we will see .
It didnt show this symtoms when teasting with 40LBS in the trailer..

Boy, this was a lot of fun!
Got a chance for a ride to a part of OK I hadn't been to for over 35yrs, got to use my new camping gear, and made some new friends!
Guy and his clan are top notch folks; Black & Blue (which was which? ;)) very hospitable and learned some new vocabulary (y'all, howdy, etc.); ImRubicon & his daughter were great (and from God's country BTW)...
Here is my token shot from atop Mt. Scott...

See you guys next time around I hope!

To those that didn't make it, yes, you were missed. But don't worry, as for me, we will meet up somewhere down the road, definitely. I'm starting to get the feeling that every one I meet through this site is going to be someone I'm glad I met.

It appears you all had a good time. Sorry I couldn't make it this time.
I have had a series of transient ischemic attacks (mini strokes). The MD says I should be ok, but should wait awhile before hitting the road by myself. Looking forward to the next get together.

Hello to All:)
First thing first. Sorry to hear about your medical problems, Fredric:( We hope you get better and we are looking forward to meeting you down the road.
To GulfXray....Black is Colleen (Her Bike is Black) and Ernie is Blue (Black & Blue Bike);)
We are still on the road heading home. Running into bad weather, especially the high winds. Bad when you are in a cardboard box:p Even though, we were glad to have made the trip. The Mr. Guy Clan was great. The food was good and there was plenty of it. Our hats off to the cooks (Especially Susan). Met some really nice people and was sorry about missing the others who wanted to come.
Will post pics when we get home. The connection is not so great where we are.
Again, Thanks Mr. Guy for a good time:)

She was brave riding that 250 ninja that far in that cold (to us cold ) but she hung in there and even said she would like to go again .
We both say it was nice to meet all and hope the weather gets nicer in that cardboard box

fredric, get well soon! I had 4 TIA's at age 39. I had to have a section of artery cut out and replaced. Mine was mostly due to being a heavy smoker.
I wish I could have made this trip, looks like you all had a blast! Let's see some more pictures.

Ok, is it me or does the 1st picture of Guy cooking with his sweatshirt hood remind anyone else of character from something like a Mel Brooks or Monty Python type movie? ;)
