150 miles closer to home and in a warmer time of year than Big Bend. I don't think the wife will let me do both. This one is only a month after the Ok campout. I better shoot for Ft. Davis.

I needed to change the date of this to 12/5 thru 12/7, I hope that doesn't mess with too many plans.

I may be able to make this one if it's not too cold. I've been by that park several times but never stayed there.

I'm set up in site 3. They allow 4 to a site. The section we stayed in 2 years ago is closed because of deer. They opened an archery season over there. Predicted overnight temp is High 20's!!! Bring warm stuff!!!

Looks like the 'W' word has intervened again. Stay warm Mac, I know others will be there so you won't be alone for long.

cough cough cough! use those sick days because if they lay you off they wont pay you for those anyway .
I hope to leave here in a couple of hours .
For those who are thinking of going the heated cabins are not to bad $ wise and not a far walk .. Though I am taking to good sleeping bags (I think they were 25 degree) and the fleece one to use as top cover . I used have used these to 30 before and they were fine . Its the morning I hate .
Getting up to make coffee and hot coco in the cold just bites.
I am taking a chance as I have a new (to me ) tent and I havent used it yet so backup is a cabin

Good thing Rick called before he left... he was thinking this was at Garner State Park.. LOL.. that would have been a surprise..

He should be on the road now, I think he said it was 250ish miles so I'd expect him just after 9pm.

It isn't 10:00 pm yet, is it? Then George isn't late! He likes to ride around a fair piece before he gets put up for the night.

Fresh biscuits for dinner, 24 this morning and 71 this afternoon. Had a good run on the Sisters, lead by Trailace. New store opened and the old one is boarded up. Pretty nice facility opened.

I really enjoyed the weekend. I just got back to San Diego. I think I have a couple more pictures, but I have to unwind from the ride from Deming. I had rain, sleet, hail(slushed up the lanes on the highway and got my attention) and some really fierce wind west of Octotillo CA. Tossed the bike and trailer around quite a bit.

Thanks Guy....that took me right to it. Also, thanks for the info on building a map of states visited. Got er done.

BTW: here's an off-the-wall question: how does one enter a temperature degree symbol instead of having to type the word. (e.g. 24 degrees)?

Like this ? "°F" Hold down the alt key while typing 0176 on the number pad you can also use the utility "character map" under Accessories/system tools cut and paste gets you that ►►► º ◄◄◄ If windows is your operating system

Yep, ALT 167 =º. I also know ALT 155=¢. Otherwise I have a cheat sheet buried in my desk drawer. Fortunately, all I need is º and ¢. Two items per memory is just about it for me....

YES, it works. Thanks. I was trying to use the numbers on the top of my keyboard, and that doesn't work. You have to use the number pad to the right.

So......it was 24ºF in Kerrville last Saturday morning. And there's snow on the ground in DeRidder, LA this morning. "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas".

Here is my ¢¢ .

24º is cold no matter how you type it.

motomac
12-11-2008, 08:57 AM
Hey, even I can do it now!!! Yupper 24º was a bit chilly to get out of the sleeping bag to start coffee. The old Coleman complained and had a hard time starting, but I gotterdun. That's my ¢¢!!! Thanks Tom!;)

BJ it's <alt> + 248 on the keypad, not top row of keyboard.

Sometimes, I can help too. :D

BTW, the mattress leaked again on Sunday night. I gotta do a hard patch I guess. Thanks for the help on Saturday.
