Road down with my friend Jake to Talihena Ok. to meet Joe and some guys from the ST forum at the Kiamichi Kitchen yesterday. Great bunch of guys, very friendly and we talked of bikes and trips. Then Jake and I headed to the Drive. I wasn't sure how this would go since I haven't had time to put my street tires back on, I was still running on the knobbies I used on the TAT. But everything worked out great, had a lot of fun today. 467 miles and back home in time for dinner. A few photos of the day.

If your ever in SE Oklahoma or SW Arkansas, be sure to ride this road. It's very scenic with lots of pull offs to take in the view.

HSTA has an event at Rich Mountain Campground every year, well worth a visit. I skipped Talimena a couple weeks ago but did it last spring, _very_ foggy. It's a great road and beautiful views.

I've been down there when it was so foggy that 10 MPH was pushing the safety factor. Really spooky to be riding in stuff like that, I pulled off at one of the turn outs and waited for most of the fog to lift, turned out to be a nice rest.

I liked it in the fog... you aren't going to see any scenery and you have to take it slow.. but it's such a surreal ride...

It's kinda neat to sit there on one of those benches at the turn outs and watch the fog roll up and over the hills. Always weird to ride along and look down on clouds.
