A member of the ST-Owners site (Tankereng) started this
as a neat idea to just play around with.
It turned in to a charitable ride that is pretty cool.
There is a a route that crosses every capital city in the lower 48 states.
Each leg between the cities is documented in The Pony Express forum (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=300).
This years official charity is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, many of
you are already aware of the Ride for Kids events held in many cities
across the U.S.
So, something that was just going to be a simple no big deal ride or group
of mini-rides, has turned into this pretty large undertaking. This started
Aug 30 in Olympia, WA and is now in IL, scheduled to hit Springfield, IL this
weekend.
The event was sourced from ST-Owners so if you want to be a part of the
actual ride you'll need to register and jump in where there are
conversations on the specific Legs you're interested in. Or, you could just
donate to the cause and support the overall effort. None of the money you
donate goes to the site or any of the members, it all goes through First
Giving for processing then to the PBTF. This is their preferred way to
collect online donations.
