Camping near California Cavern/Moaning Cavern?

Some friends invited my husband and I to California Cavern in early October and I was put in charge of finding a campground. :tent1:

I went straight for Calaveras Big Trees State Park, but they're all booked up for the weekend in question.

Any other ideas? :think1: I'm leaning towards Glory Hole Rec Area because, well, c'mon. :rolleyes: But I thought I'd see if anyone else has camped in that area before and has rec's.

We haven't really explored the area, so this info is from a campground book.
If the state parks are booked you might have to go private.
The one that is listed is Golden Pines RV Resort & Campground for 20 bucks a night for tenting.
The website (www.goldenpinesrvresort.com) makes the place look decent, but you know how website advertisements are.
The place is listed in Camp Connell which is right there where you are going.
