Located close the Deal's Gap aka The Tail of the Dragon in Stecoah NC on Rt 28
GPS coordinates are: NORTH 35 deg 22' 18 sec N - (N 35 22.300) - (35.371666) AND 83 deg 40' 47 sec W - (W 83 40.783) - (83.6797222)
I stayed here in early July 2008. The Kickstand is operated by a lovely gal with a great personality who goes by the name, "Mo". It took about 2 minutes for her to make us feel like old friends. The Campground is Clean and very well kept. The Bath house was as clean as home and better than most motels. Nice community area by the office/store. Very informal and comfortable. Borders a nice fast running creek (great sound effect).

+1 on the KSL. It's a great place to stay and the owner is real nice and friendly. I love the outdoor grill. It's great to sit around and chat after riding all over the smokies. Would love to meet with you over there Cowboy! I usually go around Memorial day. Welcome to the forum!

Nice picture Jet, are the prices a secret? Do they have a web site? Never know when I might get back there. Do any of you have a phone number to get hold of her?
Thanks for the help guys, and I'll add Kickstand Lodge to my list.

Thanks Clamper. I see you're from Az, be sure to stop in Abilene TX on your way to Tn. I may just tag along!
Here's the website. Last time I stopped in it was late and I stayed in the bunkhouse for $20. Regular tent sites are $15.

New to the site but I was at the Kickstand the first of July and found the commets posted two years ago still true. I was made to feel at home right away and enjoyed both nights and mornings.
I will be back.

+1 more on the Kickstand Lodge. I've been there the last couple of Memorial Days (Hi Jet) and it is really a place where you become family! Great relaxing atmosphere, Great food (donations only) and great hosts.

Great place. Been there a few times. one time it rained while we were out riding. When we got back, Mo had washed and dried all of our wet stuff. Everybody pitches in at dinner and breakfast. I keep looking. But I haven't found anyplace else Id rather stay.......KC

Not far from there, I'll be going to check out this reply from the Greywolf Campgrounds -
"Come on down. It is $10.00 per night per person. Showers are$5.00 per person. All the water you need FREE. We are right on a river.
Plenty of fire wood.
Have a good ride
