Hey Guys!

I have a buddy who owns 15 acres near Leakey. I called him last night and got permission for several of us to camp there on his place. It is between Garner State Park and Leakey off on a side road about 1/2 mile from the Frio River. This is primitive camping, haul in water and poop in the woods primitive. After I set up camp I am going to ride down to the river with my collapsable water container and my water filter and fill the container. He usually hauls in his own water in his truck. He has a partially built cabin, which he said we could use, but I am bringing my tent. Maybe after I see this cabin I will decide to sleep in it. Some of the best riding in Texas is around those parts. I want to ride the 3's. That is Easter weekend and I have Friday off. I plan to arrive Thursday evening. We can ride all day Friday and Saturday. Maybe we can catch a sunrise Easter Church service at one of the local churches, go for a short run that morning and head for home Sunday afternoon. Any takers?

Thanks Rod!

Just might be able to do this. I typically go to my parents place that weekend as they are getting older and appreciate me showin up to help out with stuff. But, I'll try to shift it to the weekend before.

I also don't know what the oncall schedule at work looks like yet so I'm a maybe.

Gotta love the TX Hill Country... tons of fun.

Perhaps, this forum should be called TX CAMPING! Just that there are sooo many places to go motocamping in TX. I will put Leakey on my calendar. Bob

I'm glad to hear some of y'all are interested. Since we are about three weeks out, I thought I would give this a bump and see if we get anymore takers.

I was hoping I could get away for this one but I just switched some oncall times with someone else and I doubt I can do it again... BUT, I will try.

Rod,

Have a safe trip to the Hill Country - I'll think of you while I'm on call. I might try to get away part of the day on Saturday to head to my parents place just to say hi but that's in the other direction and only 200 miles.

Ride safe and take some pics, I sure wanted to go this weekend but my on call schedule had gotten really interesting to say the least.

The Hill Country is so close, be sure you shout the next time you want to go and I'll try my best to make it.
