Here are some pics of our camping setup, at least part of it. We are on our way to the TMRA State Rally down in Texas Hill Country at Camp Wood. I choose not to use the dolly and cut back on some the stuff we normally carry because of weight and winding roads I was going to be riding on getting there. With the dolly we probably add a 100 pounds of towed weight of the tougue weight goes away, and is all carried by the dolly.
Anyway here's the pics:

Inside ready for bed. Yes we put sheets on out mattress. Some just throw sleeping bags out. We also carry a down comforter for it is cold and we needed this weekend. Friday night got down into the 40's and Sunday morning when we got up it was 36. I told my wife we wouldn't need the heater, boy was I wrong. I heard about it too.
When it is hot weather and using the dolly I have room to carry a A/C which really makes for nice sleeping.

No, its not in there yet. I do know a guy who carries a porta-potty for his wife to use. She is disabled and it is easier for her for the middle of the night visits. They pull their BunkHouse 2-up on a Valkryie.

We still do the tent camping thing, but as we get older it is harder to get up off the ground in the morning.

Great looking set-up Marty. Are you all going the the American Voyager Association International Rally in Bowling Green, KY this July?

No we won't be able to make that. My vacation situation is such I can only do one long trip a year. We had already planned on going to the Dragon with 3 other couples. We have a house rented on the Cherohala Skyway for a week. Plus we will have week riding to and from NC. Our trip is planned for late September to early October. we will see where the AVA Rally is in '09.

How about a picture of the "Dolly". I am interested in seeing that as it takes weight off of the bike.

Dean,
Sorry it took me so long to post the pics. I did not subscribe to the thread so I didn't know about your post. I took these pics awhile back, but I haven't changed anything on the dolly. I am sorry I don't have any pics with it hitched to the bike & trailer, but next time is all hooked up I will take some.

The Platform on top is 33 x15. I can carry a large lockable plastic chest on it, another ice chest, or my 5000 btu window A/C unit. I had the guy who built for me put 12 tires/wheels on it so I would only have to carry one spare since that is what my Bunkhouse uses. It has no suspension, but with the 12 wheels it pulls great when the Bunkhouse is on it, I dont fell it bouncing. I took the swivel hitch off the Bunkhouse and put it on the dolly.

hi,
wondering minds - are wondering - if and or would this setup would qualify as a double trailer???
some states restrict this (double bottom) -
still wondering... and maybe who to take this to??? the MVD would choke, if one wanted to wate in line for 1/2-1.0 hour - - - still - maybe interesting to JUST see what the outcome would be....hummmmm...
I would consider building one cause I could, and seeing a lot of good to come from this setup - almost no weight on the cycle for one...
Yes - backing would be interesting, but just how much do I back up now?? not much, that I couldn't unhook and this setup would make an unhooked backup even nicer....
take care and I will be in touch
