I got my old Marlboro Adventure Team tent out yesterday and set it up, and it has shrunk! It had to, I know I didn't get that much bigger. Man, the wife and I must have really liked each other the last time we used it. :p The good thing is, it will pack smaller than I remember and it's tall. When the weather gets better I am going to get the seams sealed so it will be ready for the summer. That has most definitely made up my mind that I will be buying a 4 person tent in the months to come.
Do you all think that it's something in my house causing this, my jackets and rain gear seem to shrink this time of year also? :D Or maybe I'm having memory problems like Guy.;)

Yeah... it's that Kentucky water... the tent didn't shrink but you have some built up water weight.. lol.. come to think of it, Texas has the same problem... nothing a big plate of BBQ won't cure.
I still have this tent for sale if you're interested. You'd have to drink a lot of water for it to shrink.

Dang you Joe, now you have me wondering if I can make it to the world famous Owensboro KY to grab a plate of BBQ before the rain sets in. :p
Thanks for the tent offer, but I think I've finally decided on the Kelty Gunnison 4. I will spread the word about you having the tent for sale to my riding buddies. I'm not sure how they are set for a tent this year.

Joe, I have sent you a pm on the tent, you can reply to my email, geneboro@bellsouth.net. You have touched on one of the things I have had to cut back on, BBQ!!! I used to (actually still want to, but don't) eat it very often and really loved it when it was hot (spicy) enough to remove your lips on about the second or third bite. Hmmm, could that have been part of my heart problem, the old heart just got tired of all those jolts!? Heres an idea, I am not sure when Mac is leaving for Alaska but if I can link up with him I am going to do it. Why don't you come part way and we could meet, maybe Yellowstone?

Hey, I wish... we'll see once all the dates show up and how everything lines up. I'd like to hit yellowstone again.
I sent you a PM on the tent. Thanks!

Just got to share this with you
My Dad phoned me a couple of days ago to tell me he's been told by the Doc at his last check up that it appears Dad may have a slight memory problem. I was obviously a bit concerned thinking alzheimers etc. and asked Dad what he was going to do about it. Totally innocently my Dad replied ohh I'm not going to worry I'm just going to forget about it.
He didn't get it straight away and wasn't amused when I went into fits of laughter.

I've got one (Gunnison 4) and like it alot. Plenty of room for me and the wife and our stuff.

That is funny!!!
Reminds me of when my dad was loosing his hearing and he would say "You don't have to scream at me, I'm not deaf yet. What did you say?" Then I cracked up and he wasn't amused either.:p

This is good to hear, the only negative thing I can see is the packed size. Is it really 28" long or could you separate the poles and make it a little smaller? Not that it will be a big factor but that is about the longest one I have seen in a 4 man.
I was considering the Grand Mesa if it has a full coverage fly. The only reason I could think of for needing a second door is unless a bear was coming in the front then I could go out the back. :p The Grand Mesa has it's door on the end so someone getting up in the night wouldn't be too big of a hassle.

Just went outside and measured the bag - 26 inches. Probably could be packed down smaller if I were more careful, but it gets thrown in the trailer behind the Goldwing with all the other gear.
I like the two door concept - I've got a door to my side and same for the wife. No climbing over each other or to the end of the tent if someone has to get up and go out for a pee break during the nite.

Ed, thank you so much for measuring the tent. That was about the only reason I could find for not ordering it. Now I will have to spend some money, and the wife will be mad at you. :p
Thanks Again!
