View Full Version : Pico vs Kermit

OK, there's compitition for the Kermit Chair now. Last Friday my new Pico Arm Chair showed up at my front door.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/DSCN9161.jpg

Most of us already know about the Kermit. For those who don't here's a discription taken from there website:

The Kermit Chair is a light weight chair with the comfort and beauty not found in other portable chairs. It packs in a bag to a length of 22" and 4"x6" in diameter. The chair is made from hardwoods and aluminum, and all hardware is stainless steel. All wood is double dipped in marine grade polyurethane. The finish is thicker than a spray and protects the chair for a lifetime. The cloth is 1000 denier nylon and is cut with heat to prevent raveling.
The chair comes with a bag and carrying strap.

I've owned mine for over 2 years and its lasted really well.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/DSCN5271.jpg

Now there's the Pico Arm Chair.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/DSCN9163.jpg

The Kermit weighs in at 7 lbs without leg extensions.

The Pico weighs in at 9 lbs.

Folded:

Kermit: 22" X 4" X 6" not encluding leg extensions.

Pico: 20" X 3.75" X 12"

Here's a picture of both layed out on the ground.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/DSCN9157.jpg

Pico ready for assembly.

Kermit with leg extensions layed out and ready for assembly.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/DSCN9158.jpg

The Pico sets up in about 15 seconds. The Kermit I haven't actually timed but it does take much longer.

Here a short video of the Pico being setup.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE6-jsKcAbQ

Prices:

Pico: $124.95

Kermit: $129
Kermit leg extentions: $30

Both are great chairs but with me being a little big for the Kermit I'll go with the Pico. Being so easy to setup and take down I know I will get more use out of it. And yes, its very comfortable.:D

And for me I got really lucky as its a perfect fit for my rack, right under my sleeping bag. Will only raise the sleeping bag up 3.75".

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/DSCN9167.jpg

I haven't rated the Pico yet as I would like to use it a few times 1st. It seems very sturdy and well made, time will tell.

The Pico appeals more to me just on the basis of set-up time. The last thing I want to do at a campsite is fiddle with a chair set-up (my tent is enough of a hassle). Being of comparable price, and apparently equal in comfort, I'd go with the Pico.

As for packing on the bike, Pico doesn't appear to pack as easily as Kermit, but I'm sure I'd find a way.

Where did you buy it?

Lastly, thanks for the informative post and nice pictures.

Thanks Traveler,

I guess I should have mentioned where I got mine. After a quick Google I went with The Comfort Store. They offered free shipping and no tax, such a deal.

Here's the link: http://www.sitincomfort.com/gcipiarmchpo.html?src=google

Keith, thanks for the great evaluation of these chairs. Being a big guy, (285 lbs) that has an old back injury I didn't think the Kermit would be a good chair for me unless I had the extensions. The Pico looks like it would work better for me, I like the quick set up also. Thanks again.

Those two chairs look really nice, but:

While cruising WalMart recently, I stumbled on this chair in the sporting goods area. It's
called the "Junior Mesh Armchair" by Ozark Trail. Packs up to 5 1/2" x 24", and can be set up in .85 seconds. Since I have been unable to justify $125+ for a chair, I thought I'd give this one a whirl. Haven't taken it camping yet, so no review is available.

There are a couple of serious caveats, however:
1. 150# weight limit (although I'm 170 & it hasn't crashed yet in the living room).
2. You can't be too wide at the hips.

It sells for $7.95, so the beauty of it is that when you're done camping, you just throw it in the fire. LOL.

Excellent review Keith. Thanks. This gives me more to consider when I am looking for a new chair next year. The photos of it folded and sitting on your rack really help visualize how I might be able to pack this chair.

Pico, Pico, Pico, I've had mine for quite a while, LOVE IT! no hassel set up and take down, comfortable & cool to sit in, cup or beer can/bottle holder, lots of storage, packs flat so I can stack stuff on top of it, has its own carrying case, what else can I say except I wouldn't have anything else! Oh yes got mine off of e-bay new for $85.00 plus 10.00 shipping.:tent1:

Does anyone know what LL Bean is charging for shipping? I've got a bid on a Pico on Ebay and if it doesn't go through, then might consider the sale price @ LL Bean if shipping is reasonable.

OK, just answered my own ? by calling their customer service - <$8 to San Antonio area. Their price + shipping would be the same as my Ebay offer + shipping, so guess I'll be calling LL Bean if Ebay flounders. Thanks for the heads-up on this great deal, but as other's have said, this site is costing me a lot of money!

Addendum: Got the Pico off of Ebay auction for $80 + $12 shipping. Now to explain to the lady of house why this was necessary.

Thanks,

....at the Byron Nelson.

I was assigned to keep terrorists (or the drunken morons wandering the course) from assaulting the camera tower on the 17th green and destroying our way of life. So I brought my PICO chair with me.......and this thing is great!!!!!

It fit me and my bat belt just fine....damn thing adds several inches to my waist and many chairs with arms can't accomodate the extra girth without me having to twist my way in and out of the chair.....with the PICO I just sat right down.

The PICO is also very sturdy. With all of my gear on I am close to 250 and I never felt like the PICO was gonna give and send me tumbling down the hill.

All in all, a good purchase.

Finally got a chance to use my new Pico camping. While packing I tried a couple different places on the bike for the chair. Went with my original idea, on the rack under my sleeping bag and tent. Actually worked out very good. Not liking the storage bag that came with it (just too many loose edges to flap in the wind) I found that the stuff sack that came with my Big Agnes Park series bag was a perfect fit.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/IMG_0303.jpg

Setup was just a matter of seconds. And for the first time in many camp trips I actually enjoyed sitting in my own comfortable chair.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/IMG_0441-1.jpg

Was a hot one at the Kern River last weekend and the mesh material used on the chair was a big plus.

I was in Costco today sitting in a couple of their camping chairs but didn't see these - might go back tomorrow and see if I can find one. If it's the same as the Pico and only $39+change, then I'm a little P.O.'ed about the cost of my Pico.:(
Thanks for the heads-up about this deal.

I have both the kermit and the Pico now .
Pico a little more sturdy feeling and better to sit in, but WAY bigger to pack and so would be my living room recliner.
Its big enough it will only go on the Jeep as I think it is just to big to pack .
I will be staying with the kermit chair for when I go on the bike

Ok, Mike finally got back to me with the Costco info.

(COSTCO #273296 gci CHAIR 08). SOLD BY GCI OUTDOOR, INC. higganum, CT 06441 (PO NO.:40258).

Another friend Mark, who owns a Pico said he too saw it at Costco last Thursday. Said it look identical to the Pico except that it didn't have the mesh/vented pannels.

Both saw this chair at the Lake Elsinore, CA. Costco store. Mike made the actual purchase. Both are made by GCI. Im yet to see it up close in person but looking at the pictures the frame looks to be the same.

Went back to Costco today (San Antonio, TX location) and looked for the Micro chair with no luck. Had an employee look for it in their computer system -no luck. I just went to their on-line site and tried both the item # and "Micro chair" in the search with no results. Will keep looking to see if these ever show up over here in Tejas.

I stopped by Costco here in Arlington and didn't see the chair.

I think I'd be happier with the Kermit chair but for $40 the extra weight and size of the Pico/Micro chair might be tolerable (it does look more comfortable though).

I wonder if the CA Costco could ship the chairs to TX?

I sat in both and eye's closed I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

But paying $80 more for my Pico, the same chair, made by the same company, and the only differance is the mesh kind of get my pressure up.

Its almost as though maybe Costco didn't get the right price on them.

I realize the point of your post was to compare two high quality products but I feel like I must say that I purchased a Ozark Trail Quad Chair from Wal-Mart for $4.98 and used it camping for 4 days over Memorial Day weekend and it worked beautifully. It doesnt pack as compact (29 inches) but I was able to roll it up in my bed roll and strap it down. Its neither light nor compact but it packed and delivered many hours of use without problem. Its rated at 225 lbs so that is a good thing considering I'm 230. Keep in mind, I never ride off road so it doesnt have to pack as compact and securely as some others. You can see it in the red carry case in the pic I attached (on the bike in the foreground).

For $5 it will work until I get rich then I will probably buy the Kermit.

Sorry, I have'nt had or wanted a Costco membership for over 2 years. Would alway's spend way too much everytime we went in there. This was brought to my attention by a friend who does. They did say they saw it another Costco store. Was seen at the Temecula store. So the chairs do seem to be getting out to other stores. The part I don't seem to understand is why it doesn't come up in a search on the Costco website.

I just got off the phone (administrative staff) with Costco in Temecula CA. Yea, I still have'nt givin up on everyone. Gave them the product code and it came right up, Micro Chair, 80 in stock. I told them the problem and she did a search (most of you from Texas have asked for help and used Texas as just an exsample) of all the Costco's in Texas and she could find nothing, no stores had them. Asked if anyone could order it up from the Temecula store and she said no. She put me on hold and asked a manager standing nearby. They discussed it and came up with nothing. They did advise calling Costco.com at 1-800-955-2292 and tell them your problem and they might help you out or at least find someway to get you a Micro.

She did say the Micro was something GCI was making for Costco and it could just be a matter of time and your stores will have it too. She also said that every Costco warehouse should show the Micro Chair on there computers when the product code (273296) is punched in.

Dear John,

Thank you for your email to Costco Wholesale.

You're more than welcome to contact the store in CA. that has it to see what can be done. In general, you must visit the store that has the item in order to purchase it.

A friend of mine found the micro chairs for $50 if anyone is interested. Cheaper than spending $129 for the same exact chair just because it says PICO on it. I'll be ordering two...

Anyone else find the pico rip, tear and sag where the mesh meets the nylon? Thats one of the reasons I rather have the micro over the pico, that and it cost $80 less

Nope, didn't bring it along. I've been meaning to bring this up, just have'nt gotten around to it yet.

So.........here goes.

The Pico failed me up at a Big Bear event a couple of months ago. Yep, it let me down. Im sort of lost for words here as i've done nothing but praised the Pico chair since I got it. My Pico had many many weekend trips on it and alway's performed without a flaw. But on Labor day weekend I made my annual opening day weekend trip to Agua Caliente. Set it up and enjoyed it for the intire weekend. Folded it up, packed it on the bike and headed home. Not a single hint that something was wrong. About 3 weeks later up at a rally in Big Bear I went to set it up and it wouldn't open. A vendor, Full Throttle Camping took a look. They are a distributor of the chair and with tools took it apart expecting to see just sand or something causing it to bind and not open. What we found was a complete failure on one side of the chair. Parts were bent and cracked. Looked as though I was going to be chairless for the event. Greg, owner of Full Throttle Camping loaned me his personal Pico chair for the weekend.

Contacted GSI when I got home and they made good on their warranty and sent me a new chair. It did cost me $18 to ship. They did pay for the return and were quick to get it back to me.

All in all I'd say the Pico is a great chair. I weigh in just at 250 lbs which is the limit of the chair. Will I ever bring it along on another trip? Hard to say as I just don't know if I can trust it now. Was it me that caused it to fail? I ask this because they did ask me to take a look at the tag on the chair and give them the lot number of that paticular chair. Were there any improvements or upgrades to the new one? Don't know:confused:.

As for the Kermit, yes I still see it every trip and take full advantage of using it when I can.:D Thats how it always was used when it was mine. I brought it along and everyone else got a chance to use it. Now its my turn:D

For now i'll stick with my $5 chair i've had for years with my Crazy Creek inflateable on top of it, very very comfortable. At least if that chair fails I can leave it behind in the trash.

Did you ask why they asked for the tag and lot #? Maybe you should ask if they had a batch that was prone to failing...they probably have if they asked that question.

Do you think the part failed due to your weight or because it was packed underneath other stuff and maybe when you tightened the straps down something cracked?

I'm waiting on a pair of Micro chairs so my Kermit and Sling chairs have some company.

Nope, didn't ask why they wanted the lot number. After filling out an online request for a return authorization it was in there first email asking that I send them that number and the color of my chair to get things started.

As for how I had it packed on the bike, that was my very first thing that came too mind. Like I said I used it and packed it and it seemed perfectly fine unhtil I went to use it again. Closed down and folded up nice and smooth. On the bike it does sit at the bottom of my load. On top is my 9 lbs. of sleeping bag & mattress, 7 lbs. of tent and always something else like an extra pair of shoes for around camp. This is all sinched down down using four 1" nylon straps. No way was any of that gear going to fall off. If I had to guess what did it this would be my 1st guess.

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d59/ownst1100/IMG_0303.jpg

My friend Mark is the same size as me, bought his Pico from the same place just day's after seeing mine and it has been on and seen the same amount of trips. Maybe, 1 or 2 trips less trips. He packs everything in one huge duffle and straps it across the seat of his GS and his chair is just fine.

Like I've said before, IMO the Pico is a GREAT chair and will probably at some point start bringing it along once again. More than likely I just need to figure out another way to pack it on the bike.

Hey Keith, I'm curious what you store in the deck bag, seems too small to be very useful, but figuring they aren't cheap I figure you had good reason to buy one. while I'm here, what mattress and sleeping bag do you have, the bag they're in look huge compared to the tent packed on top of them.

That deck bag from Seattle (SS) Sports was under $30 at REI which I thought was a great price for something that even has a waterproff zipper.:I saw it once on the REI outlet for $19 if you were ok with red. I wanted the blue as it matches the rest of my S.S. duffles:D.

It holds more than you think. I usually carry 1"X12" aluminum frying pan with the handle cut off, under the pan is a magazine or two, to the rear of the bag is half a roll of paper towels, in the pan two eye glass cases sun and normal. I use the remaining space for riding gear that I need might need to get too easily. As the day warms up or cools down I have a change of gloves, neck warmer and can even get my Gerbing electric jacket linner in there with room to spare.

Thats a much better price that I found last time I looked at them. Maybe I'll pick one up and strap it to the top of a top box like you did. I always do find it annoying to pack a frying pan.

Sleepingbag is a Big Agnes Elkpark -20° bag with their Insulated Aircore mattress. All packes in a Seattle Sports rolltop duffle with purge valve. I've also got a inflateable pillow in there too. My big Guy bag takes up a little more room but is well worth it. Man, do I ever sleep good with this setup.

ahh ok that makes sense, those BA park series bags are slightly bigger and heavier, what is that like an 8lb bag? I'm considering picking up the summit park, its only a 15 degree bag but its down so bulk is reduced and I have a few silk and thermolite liners to add to the rating.

Any updates on these two chairs?
I had not heard of the Pico chair before.
Wondering if Blues Traveler ever had any further problems with his?
Anything new out there?

I have the Pico... I really like it... it's not a real heavy chair but does have some weight to it. Pretty easy to pack on the rear seat on the ST1300 and put other stuff on top.

However, Keith sure has me itching for another Uni-go... It will be cool to see his Uni-tank in person someday.

Mike,
you might look into the "Micro" chair ... they are a twin to the Pico, but less expencive. You can find them somtimes on ebay, new for around $35.00
We have two of 'em. their size is just right for inside our camper ...

Mike, I have the GCI Express Lounger which is basically a steel version of the GCI Pico. It's very comfortable and folds up to about the same size as the Pico. The seat thread unraveled a little on my trip to AK, but as it turns out it was due to having it strapped to a pair of knobbies for all of the trip. Once I got it home I sewed it up and all was fine! P^ It's about half the price of the Pico also. Here's a link to REI.

Thanks to all. The steel one is definitely a possibility. Traveling with a sidecar and Camper, the extra weight is not a big deal. The folded size is less than half of what I have now. I've not found an Umbrella chair or sling, or whatever they call them that I found comfortable. REI is a good lead as well. The website says Scheels and Gander Mountain are both dealers, but neither one carries them. There is an REI in Minneapolis, a few hours from here.

I have a friend who swears by the Kermits. One very hot day I watched him spend nearly 20 minutes "erecting" two of them with leg extensions.
By the time he was finished he nearly collapsed from heat stroke.

I was there too. The Highlander? That one doesn't fold nearly as small. It only goes down to 27 by 20 X 4. That's about the same as an old fashioned lawn chair. They have it at the local Gander Mountain store for $55, so it's still a good price if you have room.

True its not the 24 X20X4 but three inches is not much with such a size to start with . I like the pico just not strong enough for my arse and the weight difference may make it not good for some of the motocampers I have met as well and I wanted to brig that up. ??? REI says the
Pico folds to 20 x 12 x 3.75 inches as opposed to.
Xpress to 17.5 x 16.4 x 2.4 and
Highlander is 27 x 22.5 x 4 inches

I'm only going by the specs on REI.com. I've never seen any of these accept the Highlander, and it didn't get much smaller than my No Name $24 Walmart chair.

Just got my Kermit a week ago. I looked up the utube on the owner putting it together....took him about one minute.

Brought mine outside and set it up FIRST TIME in a MINUTE!! So what are the comments about taking a lot of time to put the Kermit together?

I read where the Pico sets up in 15 seconds.....and I'm sure it's a great chair. But I can spare another 45 seconds and I much prefer the pack size and looks of the Kermit. For me, the Pico is just another folding chair. The Kermit is Camp Furniture.

After checking it out, looking at it from all angles, I have to agree that it is more of a work of art....a CRAFTSMAN'S CHAIR! EXQUISITE would be the word.

As for me, I take great pride in my stuff.....I want quality....and this is IT!

Both chairs are great choices....

I have secretly been coveting a Kermit Chair for the past 3 -4 years, but always deemed them as 'way too pricey'

I heard lots of talk about the Pico and thought, well the price is more reasonable, but still kinda high .... until I saw one at Sunny's Sports (http://www.sunnysports.com/Prod/CategoryID_2456/Context_2200/Sort_Stock/DescSort_0/GCIPTA.html?Hit=1)and bought one for $79.95 and free shipping!
I too saw the video of it's setup and couldn't wait for it's arrival. :ups:
When I get it, I tear open the packaging and emulate the guy on the you tube video. Slick.! P^
I sat in it and thought it to be pretty comfortable, as I dreamt of it's use in this summers up coming 3 month tour!. It fits inside my tour box, has plenty of 'pockets' and despite all the plastic X braces, it seemed pretty sturdy.

I hopped out of my new love and again try to emulate the fella on the video, closing up my chair. Hmm .... It's a little 'stiff' and then I hear the sound that sickens my heart "SNAP" and a piece of black plastic goes flying across the kitchen, slamming against the china cabinet. :wow1: :dizzy1:
Sure enough, I busted it and once I took it apart to see if I could fix it, I saw that the way it was busted was way to finicky/hard to attempt a repair and I knew that it wouldn't be covered under warranty because it would have been all to obvious to the manufacturer that I didn't take the time to RTFM!!! :o :trash1:

So ... I now have a limited production 'wide boy' Kermit Chair coming my way. :ups:

Call them and tell them what happened. If you remember right, I bought mine off of a returned item pile at Cabelas. It was all duct taped together and had obviously been abused. I was going to try to buy new fabric for it. They talked me in to sending it back to them. I received a brand new chair and a letter thanking me for pointing out the "flaw" in their design.

I have a question on the Kermit with the leg extensions. Is there something besides friction that holds the leg extensions on or do they fall off if you pick up and move the chair?

Dusty Boots
06-10-2011, 03:24 PM
No, ... they won't/don't fall off when you pick up/move the chair.
There is a 'cut out' in the aluminum to fit around a plastic spacer, where the cross brace snaps on, so there is that friction fit, the friction fit of the legs on the wooden legs and you'll see a turned up 'lip' at the top of the extensions, which would keep it from slipping down past the brace if the other two were not enough.

They can slip off as I have had it happen , bend the little lip just a bit and it wont happen as often. Could be a slight problem if you just snag it up and walk away and dont pay attention to it as I did and have to trace your steps to pick up leg. I bent it a little more and seems to be pretty solid now. Dont get me wrong 99% of the time they didnt but once or twice I noticed or had to walk back so you have to look to be sure as the yare not that cheap

The wife and I have had our Kermit Chairs for about five years now....very pleased with them. I've never tried the Pico or other chairs mentioned in this thread, but I wanted to say the assembly for me is about a minute each when we set them up. Mine has had a real workout since I weigh 260 pounds. The small footprint when packed is nice. I read somewhere that they are rated for a guy weighing in at 300 so I have some room for expansion.....NOT!

We now have a Trailmaster Sentry, so there is more space and we tend to leave them assembled on top, just under the vinyl cover. Oh, and have never had the leg extensions drop off. I like using it with or without the extensions.

NEW"S FLASH!

Their's a new camp chair out there, well........kind of. Its made by Kermit and its called the WIDE chair . Mine arrived today and as with all Kermits its a work of art. Its the same as a kermit in every way except its 2" wider. Fits in the same bag taking up the same amount of room. Want leg extensions, they are the same fitting both chairs. These chairs were promised a couple years ago on advrider.com and seemed to just fade away. Well last week I saw a mention of them being around since march of this year . I checked it out and saw no mention on Kermits website. Did a little more searching and found out they aren't advertising them and were at this time only available on adv. The trick is when ordering is to ask for the WIDE CHAIR in the special instructions when ordering. The WIDE CHAIR cost a little more at $145.00. vs $129.00 for the regular. 2" doesn't sound like a lot but makes all the difference in the world for my 6'2" 260-270 lbs. The space saving for packing is a BIG plus and will take up very little space in my trailer.

Yea I know, i'll just fill that saved space with something else to take along.:D

Dusty Boots
06-29-2011, 07:43 AM
You're just a little bit slow on discovering that, Keith. Look at post #84 above. ;) I think I was the 1st one ordering one over on ADV (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=671462). :)

The extra 2" allows me to get in/out of the chair with my armoured riding gear on, accommodating my 6', 250lb frame quite nicely! P^

This is what it looks like packed up, along with the leg extensions, compared to what I used to cart around.

Dusty, I seem to be a little slow on everything as of lately, I must be getting old.

How I missed your entry :o and the one on adv :o I can't explain except for the reason I pointed out above :D. I try to stay on top of any and all threads that have to do with camping chairs. Had I seen you posting I would have had my WIDE chair many camping trips ago.

When I started this review I was and still am looking for the ultimate camp chair. Even with all the offerings pointed out in this thread I still wonder if we've missed something and it's still out there. When the Pico appeared I thought I had found it. Sold my Kermit to a friend at the time and moved on. Well like you my Pico failed me and while on a trip. This was not good. I placed a call to GSI and they happily replaced it.

Since then their have been many chairs purchased in an attempt to find the perfect chair for camping. At some point i'll set all these chairs up and take a picture and post it here on motocampers for all to see.

Have alway's liked the Kermit but it felt a bit too snug to sit around camp for hours on end. The WIDE chair for now will do the job.

I dont hink we will ever find the perfect chair as Even though I like the kermit a lot its a bit narrow for bigger butts. I dont know if I want to pay for the wider one but I did just get a suprise check in the mail ????? I wonder if the wife is watching the account this week ......
;)

Also I quoted incorectly earlier in the thread as its
•WEIGHT CAPACITY: 350 LB – TESTED TO OVER 750 LB

Well all I can say is thanks to this forum and this thread.P^ I actually ordered a Kermit over the weekend then saw the post about a wide version. I was able to call them this morning and change my order I think for the few extra dollars it will be worth it. When I talked with the owner this morning he did say he wish the info hadn't got out so far on the web as he really isn't stocked up for sales of the wide yet but he was great and we had a good conversation. Looking forward to getting the chair;)

How do you like the " Wide"?
It would be great to see the pic of all the chairs!

I"ve now had my PICO for 2 long camping trips. I have to say this is the best chair I've every owned. Each time I"ve been in a campground I've had people come bay and ask about it. Probably because I'm a motorcycle camper but every comment is WOW!!...

The easy of opening and closing it is really nice. It fits very nicely in the bag it comes with. It packs away much easier than the other chairs I've owned. Its very comfortable and sturdy.

A+++++ for PICO Chairs...

I ordered the Pico from REI. It was waiting when I got back from my late summer trip. Didn't even set it up, just repackaged and sent it back. Way to bulky and heavy for my needs. Disappointed.

I don't have a Kermit, either, too expensive. I'll stick with the little 2-leg chair I bought last year. It's comfortable and I can get up/down without assistance. :D

I actually have three Picos now. We keep two of them in the wife's car or the camper for family picnics, softball games, etc.
I have a third one that stays in the sidecar trunk. If I take the little bike, it fits nicely in the tourpack or on the top rack.
My experience with Kermits has been less than satisfactory. A friend sold it to my wife for $20 after he saw a Pico at Sturgis, but she would always grab my chair and stick me in that thing. I bought a second one from a member here, and have since added the third. The Kermit went to my granddaughter.
Too many odd pieces to get lost or broken and just not that comfortable.
Of course, YMMV.
