Location:
Drive three miles west of Trinidad on Colorado Highway 12, the "Scenic Highway of Legends."

32610 Highway 12
719) 846-6951
email: trinidad.lake@state.co.us

Date of visit:
September, 2005

Weather:
Very nice, a little cool in the morning but warmed up quickly.Campground Condition:

This is a very nice campground.
The bathroom/shower facilities are also nice, clean and appear to be new.
The park roads are also very well kept.
The campsites are huge, you could put several tents on some of them.
There was a swing/slid near our site, as you can see, we do much better on motorcycles.Area Riding:
Hwy 12 is a great ride, running just south of the park east to west then turning north.http://mellow.smugmug.com/photos/58264991-Ti.jpg (http://mellow.smugmug.com/photos/58264991-M.jpg) http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/36544468-Ti.jpg (http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/36544468-M.jpg) http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/36544472-Ti.jpg (http://blink.smugmug.com/photos/36544472-M.jpg) http://mellow.smugmug.com/photos/58264993-Ti.jpg (http://mellow.smugmug.com/photos/58264993-M.jpg) http://mellow.smugmug.com/photos/58264994-Ti.jpg (http://mellow.smugmug.com/photos/58264994-M.jpg)

Trailace and I stayed in this park on the TAT and you are right, it is quite nice.
Our only problem was price. They charged us $6/ bike and also $14 for the campsite so it was $26 for both of us to camp.

I agree, not cheap... Still better than a KOA though.

I am planning on staying at Trinidad on July 28. I booked on-line for an extra $8 on top of the $14 camp fee. There is supposed to be an entrance fee to all State Parks. I am not sure how much that is but I am already out $22.

I will update this thread after my trip. I hope it is still as nice as it was in 2005.

That's weird. I will look for the tent when I get there.
