What a day, last night I rolled over and broke my CPAP mask, and yesterday my gout flared up again. My toe hurts like hell, the worst part, it's my left big toe so shifting hurts like hell. I have up shifted before by hooking the heal of my boot under the shifter then lifting, but it's not the most graceful thing to do. I can down shift just by stomping with the heal. Oh well Dr. apoint. tomorrow get some meds. again and good as new in about a week. I'll probable ride to the Dr. anyway. Ha Ha.

Don't worry, I don't let it get me down, as long as I wake up breathing it's still a good day to go ride. Right.

Dang Guy, I hope you get all fixed up. I hear that gout really hurts and the meds aren't too pleasant either. Hope you have a speedy recovery so we can go thumping soon!

Have you asked the Dr. to cut the toe off yet?? that was my first question but the drugs worked in a couple of days and it has not bothered me much for the last 35 years.

I have not broken a CPAP mask in the 4 years I have been using it but I do get a new one every 4 or 5 months and keep the old ones for emergencies.

Guy,

I have a few years on you and I have found that if the gout starts to flare-up I start taking Motrin/ibuprofen for several days to stop the inflammation. This always works for me without taking the much stronger gout medicine such as NSAIDS (Indocin). Of course increase you water intake. My gout is always in the left toe as well.

Hi All,

Just an update, I woke in the middle of the night with the worst pain in my life. Reached over and woke my wife and begged her to kill me. She refused, but offered to get me an ice pack and some Aleve. After about an hour was able to go back to sleep. Will be headed to the Dr. in 2 1/2 hours. I will be riding.

Hope you get everything straightened out. I love that you're riding to the doctor... never too much pain to ride...

My attitude is if I wake up in the morning, it's gonna be a good day.

Hi All,

Every thing going good, got a shot of something at the Dr., a medrol dose pack, and a prescip. of allopurinol. I've used the allo. before for a month and it seems to work great. This time we decided, by we I mean the Dr., to take for the next year and see what happens. So far this morn. my toe bearly hurts to walk on.

Thanks for all the well wishes, Guy

Hi,

Now I know I'm losing it, I've been thinking about a thread idea for 2 days now and as soon as I get in front of the confuser, I can't remember anything about it.

Oh well, Guy

A squid eating dough on a polyethelene bag is fast and bulbous.

Probably not helping much ;-)

Maybe it had something to do with bag, fast and bulbous.

Figured if that didn't jog your memory, it would at least put some odd visuals in your head ;-)

I've got 2 kids, odd visuals don't jog much anymore.

Thanks anyway, Guy
