Hi All,
What is the smallest stove you know of that uses the green 16.4 oz. propane cylinders that can be bought almost anywhere. I use an exponent stove now but am worryed about buying fuel on the road.

You mean the walmart green canisters?
I think walmart has some small stoves in that section specifically for those canisters.
Walmart also sells the coleman dual fuel stoves which will never leave you in a location without fuel.

Yes the Wal-Mart green ones. I've got one that screws on top of the cylinder, but does anyone know of a smaller one. I've had one of the multi-fuel liquid stoves, but I like the ease of use of the gas canister stoves.

They do have a smaller one but I think that one uses their other silver canisters.

From the coleman site, this one says it weighs less than 1 lb. but still 8 inches..

I've never cared for balancing something hot on top of a small stove, things can happen way too fast.
I used one of these Texas Camp Stoves for sometime. Single burner, sits low and stable, compact, durable, and runs on the fuel propane bottles your talking about. Add say's it's 9" X 9" X 3". I figure these dimensions or setup as it breakes down a fit further as the piece that the pot/pan sits on comes off with a twist. Once off it fits in the bottom side of the stove.
$19 from Campmore.

Never being able to leave anything alone I changed the knob, Made a support for the propane bottle and added the stainless disc seen under the espresso pot, suppose to spread the heat out more evenly and reduce the ammount of flame needed.

Joe,
That one would be great, but a look at the Coleman site says it takes the little butane backpacker canisters. Thanks, Guy
