This park is easily accessed off of IH10 outside of Luling, TX, but the park's directions from their website give the following directions coming from Gonzales, TX:

Directions: To reach the park, travel 10 miles northwest of Gonzales on US 183 to FM 1586, then west on FM 1586 for two miles to Ottine, then south on Park Road 11; or go six miles southeast of Luling on US 183, then southwest on Park Road 11 for two miles.

Facilities/Park Amenities: The front part of the park is primarily set up for tent camping with water only (20 sites). The bathroom facilities there are not set up as nice as the one in the back part of the park which have water/electricity at those (18) sites. We usually pay the extra amount to stay in this part of the park since the bathroom facilities are bigger and are heated in the winter time. Paved parking is available at these sites for your mode of transportation, along with a concrete picnic table on a concrete pad, along with a firering, lantern pole, and barbeque grill. No designated tent pads are in the back part of the park - just pitch your tent where the ground is clear/level. While it is a fineable offense for collecting firewood, this park has a lot of fallen limbs/logs to make a great campfire.

Park Attractions: The park has 3 miles of hiking/interpretive trails, to include extinct mud boil swamps and dwarf palmetto plants, which the park is named after. There is a concrete bridge over the San Marcos River for foot/bicycle traffic between the front/back parts of the park. There is a small lake in the front of the park for fishing and a concession for paddle boat/canoe rental.
